In memory of all the people on Ukraine International Flight PS752, including Mansour Esnaashary Esfahani, a PhD student in Civil Engineering and Mojgan Daneshmand (PhD’06 Electrical), as well as her husband Pedram Moussavi, a former Waterloo post-doctoral fellow and their two young children, Daria and Dorina, who tragically lost their lives in the crash on January 8, 2020.

Gifts directed to Iranian Student Memorial Engineering Fund will support international graduate students in engineering and serve as a reminder of their joyous lives and the invaluable contributions they brought to our campus. The University will match donations for this fund up to a total of $50,000. In addition, the Faculty of Engineering will match donations up to a total of $25,000 to honour the victims and to encourage future international students to pursue their dreams of higher education.

The Faculty of Environment has also established a scholarship in memory of Mari Foroutan. If you’d like to contribute to the fund, please click here.
